About this role:

The Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) delivers a comprehensive suite of banking, capital markets and advisory solutions, including a full complement of sales, trading and research capabilities, to corporate, government and institutional clients. We focus on our clients' overall financial needs, with consideration and respect for their total relationship with Wells Fargo.

The Health Care Investment Banking Group is seeking a Vice President to join the biotechnology investment banking team. The biotechnology team is focused on working with corporate decision-makers (C-suite, Board of Directors) to build long-term client relationships, through strategic advice, strong financing market and product knowledge and flawless deal execution.

In this role, you will:

  • Be responsible for independently working with senior bankers and client decision-makers across a range of activities including developing strategic analyses around industry dynamics, mergers and acquisitions strategies financing opportunities, evaluating and executing complex transactions.
  • Well-developed knowledge of investment banking products and services, the capital markets, and a general understanding of the biotechnology industry and its key constituents.
  • Be directly involved in the origination, structuring, and execution of Corporate and Investment Banking products and services for existing clients and prospects.
  • Assist in delivering the full range of products and services to clients through formulating financial strategy and policy with clients at the executive management level, managing client relationships, and executing mandated assignments in public and private equity, M&A, high yield and convertible securities.

There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit's risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Base Salary - $250,000

This role is bonus eligible.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of Investment Banking experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior sellside or buyside equity research or investment banking experience in the life sciences
  • Advanced degree in life sciences (PhD, MD) desired
  • A BA/BS degree or higher in accounting, finance, or economics
  • Knowledge and understanding of capital markets: deal execution process and standards
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to make timely and independent judgment decisions while working in a fast-paced and results-driven environment

  • Knowledge and understanding of business development: business vision, strategies, and goals

Job Expectations

  • Registration for Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted
  • Registration for FINRA Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted
  • Registration for FINRA Series 79 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time

Pay Range
$144,400.00 - $300,000.00 Annual
