Villa Festa is a privately owned wedding venue located in DeLand, FL. The facility services one wedding each weekend and strives to create a personal and memorable experience for every couple and their guests.

Role Description

This part-time on-site role is located in DeLand and is for a Venue Manager. The Venue Manager will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of events, overseeing staff, coordinating with event planners and vendors, and ensuring compliance with venue policies and safety regulations. Shifts may vary from 7-12 hours in length. Shifts are not guaranteed every week.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in event management, hospitality, or a related field
• Excellent organization, time management, and communication skills
• Strong problem-solving and customer service skills
• Experience with logistics and vendor management
• Ability to manage and motivate a team
• Excellent knowledge of venue policies and safety requirements for events
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in hospitality or event management
• Must work weekends and evenings
• Saturday availability September-May

Duties and Responsibilities

• Must be able to lift and move 100 lbs.assisted short distances (50lbs. solo)
• Liason between venue and vendors working the event
• Engage with day-of-coordinator, onsite vendors, and client as needed
• Point of escalation for issues within facilities control. Follow a documented plan for addressing facility issues. Flip breakers, contact venue leadership, etc.
• Restock event restrooms with paper goods and light clean up throughout the night
• Assign duties to the closing team which include moving tables, loading and storing chairs, putting away parking signs and stanchions, etc.
• Must be willing to assist with clearing of venue tables of remaining trash and decor so that strike can begin
• Execute the strike checklist for closing activities. Release team once the checklist is completed
• Sign off with closing Catering team
• Log hours for closing team
• Assist Valet team with finding owners of cars as needed
• Lock doors, ensure security of property during closing procedures
• Submit closing report
