We are seeking a highly skilled Remote Software Developer to design, build, and maintain a proprietary internal platform that will serve as a secure client-facing portal for managing customer communication. This new system will be built from the ground up using Open SQL and other modern technologies, with a strong emphasis on data security, HIPAA compliance, and user experience.

As part of our development team, you will play a critical role in architecting and implementing the foundation of a platform that will enhance and streamline client engagement, and meet the highest standards of healthcare data protection.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design, develop, and implement our customer portal using Open SQL and related frameworks.
2. Participate in the architecture design process for the new platform, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
3. Build secure database structures to handle sensitive medical and patient data in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

1. Work cross-functionally with UI/UX designers to create an intuitive, user-friendly portal experience for customers.
2. Collaborate with security experts, compliance officers, and project managers to ensure all development aligns with privacy and security best practices.
3. Create APIs and integration layers for interoperability with other internal and external systems and applications.
4. Develop and maintain documentation for system architecture, database schemas, and security protocols.
5. Conduct code reviews, testing, and vulnerability assessments to maintain platform integrity.
6. Support deployment, debugging, and continuous improvements of the platform.

Qualifications

1. 2+ years of professional experience in software or web development.
2. Proficiency in Open SQL and database development.
3. Strong understanding of data security, encryption, and access control.
4. Experience with HIPAA-compliant software systems or handling PHI (Protected Health Information).
5. Proficient in backend development languages such as Python, Java, or C#.
6. Familiarity with RESTful API design and cloud-based deployment (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
7. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
8. Must possess strong ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
