Ultra I&C is hiring a Test Engineer for our Austin, TX site. The test engineer will join a highly talented team and write test procedures and tests software products. This is a staff-level position involved in assessing program/project effectiveness and investigating or analyzing a variety of unusual conditions, problems, or questions.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops/writes system test plans and procedures in accordance with industry standards (IEEE Standard for Software Test Documentation etc.).
  • Simulates end-user operations and executes test procedures.
  • Supports the generation of testable requirements and designs test bed architecture.
  • Writes detailed test cases and articulates results in chosen software development lifecycle management tool (e.g., Digital.ai Agility, JIRA etc.)
  • Provides technical support and assists the Senior Test Engineers in accomplishing required tasks.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Requires 3+ years of related test engineering experience.
  • Ability to obtain a US government security clearance. Clearances are granted to US Citizens.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience with ADSI, JRE, BOSS or MLST3 are highly desirable
  • Knowledge of computer hardware operations and systems test procedures
  • Knowledge of technical tactical data links and C4I systems
  • Ability to recognize and resolve problems, select work methods, and set priorities
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Skill in analyzing complex activities and information involving some original interpretation to arrive at logical conclusions
  • Skill in troubleshooting and testing computer systems
