ob Title: Technical Writer (3-5 days a week onsite)
Location: Atlanta, GA or Dallas, TX.
Overall Purpose:
- Technical writing services to capture development and onboarding data from multiple sources into a working toolkit.
- Create and maintain systems documentation, simulations, online help, presentation decks, web based training (WBT).
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Captures screen images for courseware using Paint Shop Pro, SnagIt, or other relevant software.
- Works with subject matter experts as needed to create technically accurate documents. Self-edit and proof courseware for quality, consistency, and adherence to standards. Submits courseware to department editor for editing and implement changes.
Qualifications:
- Technical Proficiency: Must have a strong understanding of technologies, products, and services required for developing innovative and modern support documentation. Knowledge should include telecommunications networks, mobile devices, and software platforms.
- Clear and Concise Writing: The ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a clear, concise, and easily understandable manner is crucial. Ability to quickly create high-quality documentation.
- Information Architecture and Organization: A strong sense of information architecture is essential for organizing and presenting content in a logical and user-friendly way. This skill enables the technical writer to create an online toolkit that is easy to navigate, understand, and use for onboarding new customers.
- Visual Communication and Design: The ability to create visually appealing and informative graphics, diagrams, and illustrations used to explain complex concepts, making the documentation more engaging and easier to comprehend.
- Collaboration and Interpersonal Skills: Work closely with product managers, SMEs, and other stakeholders to gather and validate information. Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills are necessary for building relationships, obtaining accurate information, and ensuring the overall quality of the documentation.
