Job Description:

Local governments make consequential decisions in public, and the tools they’ve been given to manage that process are overdue for intense modernization. Govinity offers the Operating System for Open Governance: a modern platform that handles boards and commissions management, agenda and workflow, and public meeting records for local governments bound by open meetings and open records law.

We’re a small, fast-moving team with deep govtech roots and a real customer base. We’re not building for hypotheticals.

The Role

This is a hands-on technical role that sits at the intersection of implementation, solutions engineering, and AI-powered tooling. You’ll own the technical side of onboarding new customers, support the sales team with configured demo environments, and build the automation and integrations that make Govinity’s platform sing.

You’ll also be doing genuinely interesting technical work... directing AI agents, connecting APIs, and working with modern tech to extend what our platform can do. If you’re the kind of person who automates things that other people do manually and gets satisfaction from making complex systems work elegantly for non-technical users, this role was written for you.

What You’ll Do

  1. Configure and deploy Govinity environments for new customers: data migration, taxonomy setup, workflow configuration, the works
  2. Build and maintain demo sites tailored to specific prospect use cases in partnership with the sales team
  3. Diagnose and resolve technical issues across the platform (integrations, data, infrastructure)
  4. Build AI agents and automation workflows using APIs, webhooks, and MCP servers
  5. Translate technical complexity into plain language for city clerks, county administrators, and public agency staff
  6. Collaborate closely with engineering on bugs, edge cases, and customer-driven product feedback

What We’re Looking For

  1. Proven hands-on experience with APIs, system integration, and automation tooling
  2. Comfort building with AI/LLM APIs and agentic frameworks. This is not a “nice to have”
  3. Strong troubleshooting instincts across web applications, databases, and infrastructure
  4. Experience in a customer-facing technical role (solutions engineering, implementation, technical support)
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication
  6. Self-directed and effective in a fully remote environment

Bonus Points

  1. Experience in govtech, civic tech, or the public sector
  2. Familiarity with open meetings law, legislative workflow, or public records management
  3. Prior work in early-stage SaaS companies

What to Expect

You’ll have real ownership from day one. Our customers are public servants doing important work. They deserve a technical partner who takes that seriously. If you want to work somewhere your contributions are visible and meaningful, we’d like to talk.
