Position Summary

This dynamic role requires a multi-talented Technical and Marketing Writer with the demonstrated discipline required to write and coordinate highly specialized operations manuals, specification sheets and other technical materials. You will work with a diverse company of field-experienced experts, engineers and production staff to create explanations for our products, their maintenance and operation.

The ideal candidate will also bring artistic flare and creativity to our marketing materials. You will be part of the team designing and producing customer-facing materials using hard copy, digital and social media formats.

Duties and Responsibilities

Create easy-to-understand explanations and provide best practices for operating heavy duty surface equipment, as well as generate and format information for our sensitive measuring and monitoring equipment. Coordinate, design and maintain technical pamphlets, bulletins, and maintenance instructions.

Work with our team of writers to develop existing content: provide proof reading, editing and production skills. Source, generate and modify graphics as required.

In addition to interacting with diverse departments, you work Independently with minimal supervision. Maintain a strong liaison with our web developers: correlate legacy information with updated technical content.

Qualifications and Experience

An undergraduate degree in English, journalism, technical communication or professional writing would be an asset. Experience with standard office equipment and practices is expected, along with advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite. Complete mastery of the English language is essential, alongside the ability to covert complex directions into simple-to-follow steps.

An artistic background, marketing experience, and strong abilities in graphics and image software would be beneficial. Excellent knowledge of the software required to create, revise and publish technical data in various formats is preferred.

Advanced interpersonal skills, information mining techniques, and the highest level of detail and accuracy are required to be successful in this position.

Experience working with hydraulics, electronics, and mechanically-engineered equipment, plus general oilfield knowledge, would be an asset.

Details

On site, in person, full time position, Monday to Friday. Work load may require occasional overtime.
