We are seeking motivated and hardworking individuals to assist with audio video installations during the summer. As a summer laborer, you will work closely with our team of audio video installers and technicians to provide support with the installation of audio and video systems, equipment, and components in a variety of settings.
You will be responsible for assisting with the set-up, maintenance, and troubleshooting of audio-visual equipment. This job is physically demanding job. It requires you to be on your feet all day, frequently lifting and moving heavy items, and working in a variety of conditions (inside, outside, with and without air conditioning).
If you do not like physical labor, do not apply. Previous experience in construction, mechanical trades, low voltage systems, or related fields is preferred, but not required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the installation of audio-visual systems and equipment including, but not limited to, speakers, projectors, microphones, amplifiers, and control systems
- Move product from warehouse to project site and distribute according to plans
- Unpack equipment and prepare for installation as directed by project leader
- Remove trash and assist with daily cleanup of job site and vehicles
- Assist with running wires and cables to connect audio visual equipment
- Help with the assembly and installation of mounting hardware and brackets
- Assist with the setup and testing of equipment to ensure proper functionality
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Be a force multiplier for installers and technicians by supporting them to the maximum extent possible
- Comply with all company, client, and governmental health and safety requirements, including use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to travel out-of-town for work, but will return to B/CS daily
- Must be able to read color diagrams, wires, and drawings
- Must be willing and able to climb ladders
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
- Willingness to learn and take on new tasks as required
- Ability to work outdoors and in different locations as needed
- Experience using hand and power tools is preferred
This is a temporary, full-time position with an expected duration from May 15 thru July 28 during the summer. Some variance in these dates is permissible, but successful candidates need to be able to work 8-10 hours per day.
