Strength and Conditioning Coach, Vestal Ortho

United Health Services is seeking a Strength and Conditioning Coach to join our Vestal Outpatient Physical Therapy department at Vestal Ortho in Vestal, NY. This is a Per Diem position.

$20.50 - $29.62 per hour, depending on experience.

Strength and Conditioning Coach / Overview

Provides strength and conditioning services under the direction of the Human Performance Specialist. Will develop and maintain strength and conditioning programs for local area athletes of all settings.

Education/Experience

Key Responsibilities and Expectations

Minimum Required:
 

  • Bachelors Degree in Related Field
     

Preferred:
 

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Exercise Science and
  • 2 years experience working with high school, college or professional athletes under a strength and conditioning model
     

License/Certification

Minimum Required:
 

  • Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist Certification (CSCS) within one year of employment
     

Work Environment

Material Handling:
 

  • Occasionally applies various therapy modalities. Occasionally lifting from floor to waist and from waist to shoulder 21-50lbs; lifting 11-20 lbs. overhead. Occasionally carrying, pushing, and pulling 21-50 lbs.
     

Positional Tolerance:
 

  • Frequent standing, and occasional sitting and walking. Frequently bending forward, stooping, reaching forward, squatting, crouching and occasional kneeling, crawling, climbing stairs or ladders. This position occasionally reaches above shoulder height, twists at the hips, and grasps heavy items. This position rarely performs fine motor skills, balance, and pinching activity. Requires constant hearing and frequent talking. Frequently requires far acuity; occasionally requires near acuity, depth perception, and adjustment of eye to sharp focus. Rarely requires color vision.

  • Clinical – Access to patient information that is not restricted (an example of restricted information is ARU) – Level 3
