Nabis is a Series B stage licensed cannabis wholesale marketplace and distributor with the largest portfolio of cannabis brands, supplying over 300 brands to 99% of California’s dispensaries and delivery services. Our team, backed by Y-Combinator and a celebrity roster of tech executives, including Doordash cofounder Stanley Tang, Gmail creator Paul Buchheit and Twitch cofounder Justin Kan, is scaling the cannabis supply chain with technology with the ultimate goal of becoming the largest distributor of cannabis products in the world. Our Finance Team is currently seeking a Strategic Finance Associate to help with financial modeling and analyzing M&A and investment opportunities!

About the Role

The Strategic Finance Associate will play a key role in supporting Nabis’ financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and expansion activities. They should move quickly and be excited to leverage the resources of a fast-paced organization. This role will be responsible for providing financial insights and recommendations to the Nabis leadership and executive teams to help support key business decisions and strategic expansion or investment opportunities.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assisting in the development of business cases for new investments or projects
• Providing analytical support for financial due diligence of potential acquisitions and / or fundraising rounds
• Assisting in the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly re-forecasts
• Conducting thorough market research and competitive analyses to identify trends, opportunities, and threats in the cannabis wholesale industry
• Analyzing financial data, developing financial models, and preparing ad-hoc financial reports to support decision-making
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand and analyze business performance and drive improvements in key financial metrics
• Developing and maintaining financial reporting processes and tools to support decision-making
• Identifying and evaluating opportunities revenue growth and cost savings

Qualifications:

• 1-2+ years of experience in investment banking or related field
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics or other quantitative or analytics field
• Strong analytical skills with a data-driven mentality, high attention to detail, and demonstrated success in problem solving and synthesizing data to provide business insights and recommendations
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling; ability to work proficiently within Google Suite and broader Microsoft Office suite
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment to drive business results
• Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally to deliver results with minimal supervision
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high growth, rapidly changing environment that requires tenacity to exploit opportunities and a steady demeanor to handle challenges
• SQL knowledge / prior work experience handling large data sets and data models is a plus
