About your new role:

Job Summary: We are looking for a highly skilled Staff Software Engineer to help design and develop our next-generation security products. You will work on high-scale distributed systems, leveraging modern technologies to build robust and scalable software. Prior security experience is not required—just a willingness to dive into new challenges and help shape the future of security technology.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Architect, design, and implement scalable and high-performance software solutions.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, design, and engineering, to develop innovative security-focused products.
3. Lead technical initiatives and drive best practices for software development.
4. Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while ensuring high test coverage.
5. Mentor and support other engineers by providing code reviews, technical guidance, and leadership.
6. Stay up to date with emerging technologies and incorporate them into our development process where applicable.
7. Contribute to the evolution of our engineering culture and best practices.

Qualifications:

1. 8+ years of professional software development experience.
2. Strong expertise in Python and PHP (Laravel) for backend development.
3. Experience building and maintaining distributed systems or cloud-native applications.
4. Knowledge of modern software architecture, design patterns, and engineering best practices.
5. Experience working with databases (SQL and NoSQL) and caching technologies.
6. Proficiency with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
7. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as in a team.
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to Have:

1. Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or other container orchestration technologies.
2. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
3. Exposure to security concepts, though prior security domain experience is not required..

Commandlink hires individuals in a number of geographic regions and the pay ranges listed reflect the cost of labor across these regions. The base pay for this position as displayed at the bottom of the job description is a range based on our lowest geographic region, up to our highest geographic region. Pay is based on location among other factors, such as skill-set, experience, and qualifications held.

The pay range for this role is:

150,000 - 200,000 USD per year(Remote)
