Staff Software Engineer — Platform / SRE (Kubernetes, Cloud, Service Mesh)

3 month contract before conversion - up to 85/hr

Remote (U.S.) | Base up to $160K - Total Comp ~ $180K–$200

We’re building a modern infrastructure platform that enables engineering teams to deploy, scale, and operate applications at enterprise scale.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role focused on Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, and platform reliability — ideal for engineers who think like SREs but want to build systems, not just support them.

What You’ll Work On

1. Designing and building a self-service platform for infrastructure and application deployment
2. Operating and scaling Kubernetes clusters in production environments
3. Implementing and managing service mesh (Istio) for traffic control, security, and observability
4. Improving reliability, performance, and developer experience through automation
5. Partnering across teams to standardize best practices and reduce operational friction

What You Bring

1. 7+ years in infrastructure, platform engineering, or SRE-type roles
2. Strong experience with Kubernetes in production
3. Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure
4. Experience with service mesh (Istio preferred)
5. Familiarity with Helm and infrastructure automation
6. Strong understanding of networking and distributed systems
