About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer for our Backend team to help us build cutting-edge, AI-powered video creation and collaboration tools. Rather than specialists, we’re seeking curiosity-driven engineers who are determined problem solvers and thrive in fast-paced, high-ownership environments. Our engineering team is highly collaborative and works on a wide variety of exciting challenges, including building backend services for interactive video processing and streaming, and deploying cutting-edge computer vision and generative models to production.

A peek at our technical stack

Our API endpoints for real-time collaboration and media asset management is written in TypeScript, and runs in ECS containers on AWS Fargate. We leverage multiple AWS-native components, such as S3, CloudFront, Lambda, Kinesis, and SQS, as building blocks of our infrastructure.

Our inference backend is written in Python (PyTorch, TorchScript), and is deployed across multiple clusters / cloud providers. We use Kubernetes for container orchestration, and k8s-native components such as Flyte, Kueue, and Kyverno efficient job orchestration. We invest in prometheus and grafana for monitoring, and Terraform to manage our infrastructure.

What you’ll do

1. Work with a world-class engineering team pushing the boundaries of creativity and content creation on the browser
2. Own the full API lifecycle from design and implementation to monitoring, optimization, and documentation for both public and internal APIs
3. Implement comprehensive API security, rate limiting, authentication, and monitoring systems to ensure reliability at scale
4. Improve the performance, reliability, and code quality of our codebases

What you’ll need

1. 4+ years of industry experience in a backend focused software engineering role
2. Fluency of one or more programming languages; TypeScript preferred
3. Experience with PostgreSQL, including query optimization, indexing, and database design
4. Experience architecting production-ready systems at scale using cloud primitives from AWS, GCP, or Azure
5. Ability to rapidly prototype solutions and iterate on them with tight product deadlines
