Position: SQL Developer / BI Analyst

Location: Remote with Travel

Duration: 6 months with high likelihood to extend or convert to FTE


Type: Primarily Remote-Will start at 50% travel to Oklahoma City, then transition to as needed.



Required Skills & Experience

  1. Expert-level SQL skills for complex querying, data manipulation, performance optimization, and dataset creation
  2. Advanced experience in data analysis, wrangling, and dataset development (minimum 5 years)
  3. Background with Oil & Gas financial data (Upstream strongly preferred)
  4. Hands‑on experience with SAP (S/4HANA preferred), especially financial and production-related data structures
  5. Proficiency with BI/reporting tools: Power BI, Spotfire, or similar
  6. Strong data modeling skills, including building scalable, reusable datasets and semantic layers
  7. Intermediate Python for automation and data processing
  8. Working knowledge of Databricks Notebooks, Jobs, and Pipelines for ETL/ELT workflows



Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a SQL Developer / BI Analyst to support a major Oil & Gas organization in Oklahoma City, OK. This role is heavily focused on advanced SQL development, data transformation, and building high‑quality analytical datasets to support enterprise reporting.

You will work extensively with Oil & Gas financial and operational data, assessing existing datasets and reports, identifying remediation needs, and architecting future‑state data solutions. Responsibilities include creating new datasets, optimizing data models, enhancing ETL/ELT processes, and developing or updating BI reports to align with enterprise standards.

This position requires strong SQL expertise, deep analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with business and technical teams. A solid understanding of SAP data (S/4 preferred), particularly financial modules, is essential. Experience with Databricks and modern reporting tools such as Power BI and Spotfire is highly beneficial.

The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, highly analytical, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision.




Compensation: $60-65/hr

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
