SQL & Java Developer

12-month Contract-to-Hire

Location: Remote (EST preferred)

Pay: $60 - $70/hr (compensation can vary depending on experience)

role focuses on building and supporting reliable, high performing systems that connect enterprise databases with Java-based applications. The successful candidate will combine strong SQL Server expertise with Java development experience to deliver secure, efficient, and scalable solutions.

Most Important Responsibilities:

• Build, enhance, and support scalable database structures and integrate them with Java-driven applications.
• Create, maintain, and optimize advanced T-SQL components including queries, stored procedures, and functions and triggers to support system stability and performance.
• Partner with developers and business teams to embed database functionality into new and existing Java platforms.
• Contribute to the design and upkeep of data conversion, migration, and ETL workflows.
• Develop clear technical documentation and conduct comprehensive testing to validate reliability and accuracy.

What you can bring to the table to impact this role, team, and organization:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in SQL-based and Java development roles.
• Advanced SQL and T-SQL experience.
• Strong background working with Microsoft SQL Server and tools like SSMS, SSIS, SSRS.
• Experience building backend Java applications in enterprise environments.
• Understanding of data modeling, normalization, indexing, and database architecture.
• Experience using version control platforms such as Git.
• Familiarity with Maven-based Java projects.
• Exposure to Liquid is a plus.
