2. About the Opportunity:

The Software Engineer II will focus on designing, developing, and optimizing backend systems critical to the digital sports platform. This role is responsible for building scalable, reliable services that support real-time operations and data handling. The position contributes to the platform’s stability and growth by delivering technical solutions aligned with business goals. It involves collaboration with cross-functional teams and requires engagement with complex, high-scale challenges within a regulated environment. The role supports the ongoing development and innovation of the platform’s core backend infrastructure.

3. Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with internal and external teams to deliver stable, reliable applications aligned with the product roadmap

• Evaluate new technologies and open source tools to improve applications, services, and systems

• Promote and improve engineering best practices and contribute to a positive engineering culture

• Build highly scalable and fault-tolerant systems within a regulated production environment

• Continuously enhance the platform through adoption of software engineering best practices

• Understand business goals and translate them into technical solutions

• Develop a strong knowledge of the product, features, and roadmap to guide technology decisions

• Partner with product management, design, DevOps, security, and front-end engineers

• Be open to occasional travel for meetings, conferences, and team activities

4. Requirements:

• 2-5 years of object-oriented development experience with Java, focusing on scalable, high-performance applications

• Experience with Spring Boot Microservices framework and JPA preferred

• Familiarity with web technologies such as HTTP, REST, TCP/IP

• Experience with version control systems like Git or SVN

• Knowledge of UML, OOP principles, and design patterns

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP

• Proficiency with distributed caching and message-oriented middleware like Kafka

• Experience using Docker and Kubernetes

• Experience conducting experiments, A/B testing, and optimizing for business outcomes

• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to diverse audiences

• Skill in triaging and debugging production issues quickly

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Familiarity with distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and complex third-party integrations

• Passion for software development, system architecture, and knowledge sharing in a collaborative environment

5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:

• Salary Range $108,000—$156,250 USD
