Compensation: $104,000 - $125,000 per year. You are eligible for a Short-Term Incentive Plan with the target at 7.5% of your annual earnings; terms and conditions apply.

Software Engineer II – Remote PST

Software engineers design and develop custom software, systems, and integrations. Software engineers work with a team of fellow software engineers, QA engineers, and business systems analysts in an agile/scrum process to deliver enhanced product value. We are looking for a talented software engineer to help support our enterprise system integrations. In addition to writing code and fulfilling needed tickets, the successful candidate will design technical solutions with IT operations teams, participate in scrum ceremonies, and work with stakeholders to understand workflows and requests.

Essential Functions

1. Drive technical solutions to problems, including end-to-end process flow from ideation to release, and estimating time and complexity
2. Design and develop custom software according to ticket specifications
3. Act as a role model for the team, settings standards for excellence and mentoring junior engineers
4. Provide clear and consistent feedback on code reviews
5. Participate in scrum ceremonies, including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and daily standups
6. Meet with clients, partners, product owners, or other stakeholders to understand and clarify workflows and requirements
7. Knowledge and execution of the end-to-end software development cycle
8. Highlight blockers or issues arising during development to resolve in a timely manner
9. Monitor process and log information, troubleshooting issues as needed
10. Ability to create detailed and comprehensive documentation
11. Ability to logically troubleshoot issues as they arise
12. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field and 2+ years of work experience OR Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
2. Full-stack development experience
3. Object-oriented coding experience
4. Good understanding of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, or NoSQL)
5. Ability to effectively use version control, including ability to branch and merge in git
6. Ability to programmatically read and write a variety of structured and unstructured formats, such as JSON, CSV, XML, HL7, and FHIR
7. Experience with production and consumption of web services (ex: REST, SOAP, AMQP)
8. Basic understanding with serverless and microservice architectures

Preferred

1. Experience with Golang, Python, Java, or other compiled languages
2. Experience with integrating with various EMR systems
3. Experience with real-time streaming architecture
4. Experience with designing and developing AI/ML/GenAI solutions
5. Experience and/or certifications working in cloud environments (AWS, Google)
6. Experience with CI/CD (e.g., Terraform, Bamboo, Jenkins)
7. Experience with Atlassian suite (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, and TestRail)
8. Prior experience in biology or bioinformatics a plus
