Leap is actively seeking a Software Engineer for our Ticketleap Platform with a passion for solving unique problems, and working in a fast paced environment.

AS A SOFTWARE ENGINEER, YOU WILL:

  1. Develop an industry-leading event ticketing and management platform
  2. Write maintainable and well-tested code
  3. Help implement high-quality and long-lasting solutions to complex problems facing event organizers
  4. Work directly with stakeholders to understand problem scope and customer needs
  5. Set priorities and refine tasks and estimates while participating in sprint planning sessions, standups, and retrospectives
  6. Write software used at-scale by world-renowned event brands

OFFICE INFORMATION:

Leap Event Technology is a 100% remote-friendly company. However, we do offer the option of working in the office for employees located in Montréal (CAN), Dallas (U.S.), Sydney (AUS). All of our offices are stocked with snacks and drinks and we provide a free lunch every week. We offer a monthly travel stipend, and even host the occasional themed party and happy hour!


If you don’t live near an office but happen to be visiting nearby, you can work from the office for as long as you need.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Leap Event Technology requires all Event Operations employees and contractors who will be representing the company at a client event to be fully vaccinated at least two weeks prior to attending. Exemptions are determined by the event organizer. Employees are not required to be fully vaccinated to be present at an office facility.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  1. Industry experience writing and maintaining software
  2. 3-5 years’ professional experience preferred
  3. Strong understanding of PHP, Javascript and MySQL
  4. Experience using React Javascript Framework
  5. Affinity for teamwork and leadership skills
  6. History of working closely with Devops and Systems teams
  7. Strong understanding of modern software design practices
  8. Ability to write organized, legible, testable and efficient software
  9. Comfortable around a command line in a Linux-flavored environment
  10. Understanding of web and network security
  11. Eagerness to learn and willingness to take initiative to solve problems
  12. Communication and writing skills


BONUS SKILLS:

  1. Experience building and supporting ecommerce platforms, at scale
  2. Experience with the AWS ecosystem and Docker/Kubernetes
  3. Experience with DevOps tools (terraform, ansible) and CI/CD
  4. Experience working with systems that process payments (PCI DSS compliance)
  5. History of contributing to open source software
  6. Ability to demonstrate professional expertise with writing, blog posts, talks, or other public work
