Software Engineer, AI Automation

AI Talent Hunt is hiring on behalf of its partner for an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer, AI Automation to join a fast-growing AI startup transforming the renewable energy industry through production-grade AI agents.

Location: New York, NY (Hybrid – 3 days/week in Brooklyn)

Employment Type: Full-time

Salary: $150,000 – $220,000 + Competitive Equity

Visa: OPT sponsorship available; H-1B transfers supported

About the Role

We're looking for a software engineer with strong experience building data-intensive systems and deploying AI agents into production. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced startup environment, taking ownership of products, and building intelligent automation that replaces manual workflows.

You will collaborate with domain experts to develop AI-powered solutions that accelerate renewable energy infrastructure development.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy production-grade AI agents for complex business workflows.
• Develop end-to-end features across backend services, ETL pipelines, databases, and cloud infrastructure.
• Build automation systems that streamline permitting, siting, and interconnection processes.
• Work closely with product managers and domain experts to deliver impactful features.
• Scale AI-driven platforms handling increasing workloads and data volumes.
• Apply AI technologies to solve real-world infrastructure and energy challenges.

Required Qualifications

• 3–8 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Recent hands-on experience deploying AI agents into production.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with LangGraph, Agent SDKs, or similar agent frameworks.
• Experience building scalable backend systems, ETL pipelines, databases, and infrastructure.
• Comfortable working in startup environments with high ownership.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field from a leading university.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience at a high-growth AI SaaS or vertical AI startup.
• Experience with geospatial data, GIS, or energy infrastructure.
• Background in renewable energy, climate technology, or infrastructure software.
• Strong full-stack engineering capabilities.
