Job Summary:

As a Software Engineer (Backend) at Impiricus, you will help design, build, and maintain the backend services that power our digital healthcare platform. You’ll work closely with senior engineers and cross-functional partners to develop reliable APIs, model and optimize databases, and support scalable, high-performance systems. This role is ideal for an early-career engineer eager to grow their backend expertise while contributing to meaningful healthcare technology.

Responsibilities:

1. Design, implement, and maintain backend services and APIs that support core product features.
2. Work with Postgres database to model data, write efficient queries, and ensure data integrity and performance.
3. Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and designers to support end-to-end feature development.
4. Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code following established engineering best practices.
5. Participate in code reviews, debugging, and production issue resolution with guidance from senior engineers.
6. Learn and apply secure, scalable backend patterns while contributing to the continuous improvement of our systems.

Experience:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or closely related technical field
2. Strong programming background in one or more of the these languages: Python, Golang, TypeScript
3. Experience designing and implementing APIs
4. Hands-on experience with relational databases and SQL, including schema design, writing queries, and working with data models
5. Familiarity with LLMs and prompt engineering, with hands-on experience integrating AI-driven features
6. Foundational understanding of AI and machine learning concepts
7. Exposure to cloud environments, preferably AWS
8. Experience with Rust is a plus

The base salary range for this role is $105,000 - 130,000
