The Boeing Company is looking for a Software Engineer (Associate/Experienced) to join our team in Aurora, CO.

This position will support the Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS), Space and Launch division and will work in Mission Systems performing daily operations at a spacecraft ground station in Aurora, CO. The Northern Lights Ground Engineering team is responsible for all aspects of maintaining 24x7 operational systems. Our group works all facets of spacecraft operations from ground system obsolescence, upgrades and maintenance supporting spacecraft control, spacecraft system engineering, mission planning, and vehicle engineering.

Our teams are currently hiring for a range of experience levels including Associate and Experienced Level Software Engineers.

Position Overview:

The Software Engineer will be a part of a high-performing team that are immersed in highly complex operational systems. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with software developers, external engineering groups, and our customer to resolve anomalies, integrate new or upgraded systems, and strive for 100% mission success. We’re seeking a highly talented, motivated, and creative software developer to engineer new solutions and support existing capabilities of a software program for the national intelligence community. The successful candidate will design, implement, and maintain a system supporting spacecraft operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

 

  • Analyzing high level customer requirements and deriving lower level functional requirements
  • Software development tasks including detailed software design, coding, and unit/integration/functional/system testing of customer desired features/user stories
  • Briefing software designs and demonstrating software release functionality to customer/stakeholders/end users
  • Develop and sustain new and existing applications; as well as troubleshoot and resolve various software issues
  • Support ongoing lifecycle maintenance of operational baseline and the software quality efforts of our Boeing product deliveries to our customers
  • Willingness to provide 24x7 on-call support on a rotating basis

     

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed selected location options.

This position requires an Active U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance (US Citizenship Required). (A U.S Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).

MUST RECEIVE APPROVED CI POLYGRAPH PRIOR TO START DATE

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Must possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace or related technical field
  • 1+ years Foundational knowledge of C# programming language
  • Willingness to provide 24x7 on-call support on a rotating basis

     

Desired Qualifications:

 

  • 3+ years experience with C#
  • Experience working with Linux operating systems
  • Experience working with Windows operating systems
  • Experience working with Solaris operating systems
  • Experience with operating system scripting languages
  • Experience with FORTRAN programming language

     

Typical Education / Experience:

Associate (Level 2)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Experienced (Level 3)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary Pay Range:

Level 2 $85,000 - $115,000

Level 3 $104,550 - $141,450

  • 120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
