Function/Duties of Position:
The mission of the School of Dentistry (SoD) Dental Informatics team, in partnership with OHSU Information Technology Group (ITG) and SoD Leadership, is to develop, implement, train, and maintain technology-based services and solutions that enable the School of Dentistry to accomplish its missions. This position reports Associate Dean for Finance and Administration and has a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Director, Academic Applications within the ITG. This position supervises the SoD Dental Informatics team.
The SoD Dental Informatics Supervisor in partnership with SoD Leadership and DI members determines goals and set priorities for technology projects in the School of Dentistry, and creates and monitors metrics to evaluate success of the unit. This position adheres to and promotes a service level agreement within the School to ensure high quality customer service. This position requires excellent communication and teamwork skills, and measures results as perceived from customers.
In addition, this position provides direct support for School of Dentistry technology systems and applications to support clinical, academic and research needs. As a working supervisor, the incumbent will implement, upgrade, and maintain applications; evaluate and provide feedback to SoD leadership on new solutions; and ensure adherence to OHSU and regulatory, security, and privacy issues. This position also works directly with vendors to address implementation and support issues, and facilitates effective communication between application vendors, SoD personnel, and ITG.
