Justin and his parents learned it from his Bachan (aka grandma). In 2019, Justin launched The Original Japanese Barbecue Sauce, and to this day, we honor this commitment to flavor as we have expanded our portfolio of products. As we grow our brand, we're looking for an excited and creative Social Media Content Creator to play a key role in creating social-first original content for Bachan’s. About the Role

Bachan’s is looking for an enthusiastic Social Media Content Creator to spearhead in-house content creation for Bachan’s social media channels and beyond. This person will be enthusiastic about staying on top of social media culture and trends, be comfortable in front of the camera, and bring ultra-creative ideas to the table that can be executed with a social media audience at the forefront. You will report to the Senior Manager of Social Media, Influencers, & Partnerships and work closely with the Social Media Coordinator to ideate original content for TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts. You will also collaborate with the team on overall TikTok strategy and day-to-day platform operations.

Responsibilities

1. Brainstorm + execute social-first content ideas, prioritizing short form video for TikTok & YouTube Shorts.
2. Assist with day-to-day posting/scheduling on TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and other social platforms as needed.
3. Create social-first content for Paid Media with guidance from briefs and in partnership with Social Media Coordinator.
4. Be comfortable creating approximately 5-10 pieces of content for TikTok per week.
5. Be comfortable with being in-front of the camera as yourself and/or our octopus mascot.
6. Take larger marketing briefs and be able to ideate social-first video ideas to support different priorities.
7. Comfortable with occasionally wearing Octopus mascot costume when needed (don’t worry other team members can + will be wearing it too, it’s a team effort).
8. Be able to execute easy food content creation (you don’t need to be a chef by any means, but you can make a bowl of chicken, rice, and vegetables look nice).
9. Edit social media videos using in-platform editing tools (other video editing tool experience a plus, but not required).
10. Assist in community management engaging with Bachan’s fans of the brand on TikTok.
11. Desire to join a fun, fast-paced team.
12. Be in-office in LA with Social Media + Creative team 1 day/week.
13. Travel as needed (at least once per quarter).
14. Occasional work on holidays and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

1. 1-3 years of social media experience as a content creator for your own channel or a brand (UGC or in-house role).
2. Be obsessed with social media content and staying on top of trends with a keen sense for how to continuously elevate Bachan’s in culture, keeping the brand fresh & relevant to our target audience.
3. Interest or experience using social media analytics and other technology tools (i.e. Dash Hudson, Airtable, Asana).
4. Experience engaging with a community on social media.
5. Experienced creating video content for TikTok.
6. Good communication skills and confidence in adapting to the unique voice of Bachan’s.
7. Solid organizational skills with high attention to details and quality.
8. A positive, enthusiastic, results driven, ‘can-do' attitude to your work.
9. Be comfortable with occasional scheduled travel (advanced notice given).

Pay range and compensation package

$75,000 to $85,000 annually, DOE
