Kalmbach Media, a publisher of science and hobby magazines and websites, is seeking a knowledgeable, experienced SEO specialist for its growing DiscoverMagazine.com web team. This person will play a critical role in significantly increasing the Discover brand's digital reach by helping us deliver highly optimized content across our broad range of science categories. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop optimization strategies that increase search engine result rankings through keyword and competitive research. Review new content during editing process to ensure use of proper headlines, subheads, meta descriptions, and keywords.
• Optimize existing content as needed to support overall digital growth goals.
• Regularly monitor keyword rankings and make adjustments as needed.
• Write highly optimized articles for Discovermagazine.com in key content areas as defined by digital team.
• Collaborate with Discover digital team to identify new content opportunities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Marketing, Communications, or relevant discipline.
• 3-5 years' experience optimizing and/or writing content for the web, preferably for a publisher/media outlet.
• Proven experience in successfully executing SEO strategies that have resulted in organic traffic growth.
• Interest in/knowledge of science-based topics is a plus.
