This role will play a vital role in crafting persuasive and compelling content tailored across our audiences. This position requires strong writing and editing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to think critically with several years of professional writing experience, HTML skills, content management systems (CMS) and search engine optimization (SEO).

Our ultimate goal is to produce high-quality content that consistently engages our audiences and achieves high SERP rankings that will reliably generate organic traffic to our brand.

Focused on search engine optimization, the content you create can span to include articles, blog posts, online advertisements, promotional copy, e-newsletters, and video scripts. Develop an effective content strategy based on business objectives. That includes planning, creating and managing content that is relevant, engaging, easy to find, actionable and shareable across digital platforms.

As an SEO Content Writer at Goosehead Insurance, you will work as a member of our marketing team and will collaborate across departments and subject matter experts and implement their feedback and suggestions in your content. To excel in the role, you must have an excellent grip on English grammar, punctuation, spelling, and style. In-depth knowledge of current SEO practices.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Creating high-quality, SEO-optimized content, incorporating relevant keywords and SEO best practices into content to enhance online visibility and search engine rankings.
• Monitor SEO performance and make data-driven adjustments to improve content discoverability.
• Analyzing SEO performance data using tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and SEMrush.
• Uploading content to a company’s CMS and ensuring it is accurate and error-free before posting
• Conducting regular quality assurance checks of content
• Create persuasive and engaging copy for various marketing materials, including website copy, emails, case studies, social media, and blog posts.
• Ensure all messaging and copy aligns with brand identity, voice and key messaging.
• Compelling storyteller, understanding of our target audiences and how to engage each accordingly.
• Implementing feedback and suggestions from our teams and subject matter experts
• Partnership with other departments to integrate creative ideas into content assets.
• Adhering to our internal guidelines, branding and compliance

Experience and Education

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Public Relations, Communications or related field.
• A minimum of 1-2 years experience with SEMrush
• Knowledge of content strategy and creation across multiple mediums (website, email, video, etc.)
• Experience with SEO and content writing
• Knowledge of core SEO principles (keywords and keyword variations, keyword stuffing, internal linking, etc.) and the ability to apply them to written content
