Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Web Developer with a strong focus on building high-quality, user-facing web experiences. This role is one that is extremely hands-on with WordPress development and UI engineering, including custom themes, CMS-driven layouts, responsive design, accessibility, performance, and visual consistency across all digital properties.

The ideal candidate serves as a bridge between the Digital Marketing and Architecture and Enablement teams, collaborating closely with graphic designers, content marketers, architects, and product stakeholders to deliver polished, production-ready, on-brand interfaces. This role primarily focuses on frontend development and CMS-driven web platforms and does not require backend ownership.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Design, develop, and maintain complex WordPress-based websites and responsive, user‑friendly web applications.
  2. Develop and maintain custom WordPress themes, plugins, and integrations, balancing custom development with strategic use of existing plugins.
  3. Build intuitive and accessible user interfaces using modern front‑end frameworks, WordPress, HTML, and CSS.
  4. Ensure all user interfaces adhere to established brand standards, design guidelines, UX/UI best practices, and visual identity.
  5. Collaborate with digital marketing partners and designers to translate designs and campaigns into high‑quality implementations that meet goals and project deadlines.
  6. Participate in marketing‑related planning and working sessions to support digital initiatives and ensure alignment.
  7. Ensure application performance, security, reliability, and scalability, including plugin management, updates, optimization, and coordination with hosting and infrastructure teams.
  8. Write clean, well‑documented, and testable code.
  9. Participate in code and accessibility reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
  10. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects.
  11. Integrate WordPress and frontend components with internal and third-party APIs, forms, and marketing or analytics platforms.
  12. Implement resilient UI patterns for handling API responses, loading states, and errors.
  13. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams across engineering, product, and marketing.
  14. Completes annual compliance courses.
  15. Adheres specifically to all corporate policies and procedures. Also adheres to Federal and State regulations and laws; including, the Bank Secrecy Act and the Anti-Money Laundering Act.
  16. Adheres to our Service Excellence standards and promotes their implementation with peers and associates they support.
  17. Performs other duties as required.



GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS :

Knowledge & Experience : These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position. Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines.

  1. Strong experience with web development technologies, including:
  2. HTML, CSS, JavaScript / TypeScript
  3. Modern front‑end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue)
  4. Strong hands-on experience developing and maintaining WordPress-based websites, including custom themes, plugins, CMS configurations, and integrations.
  5. Keen understanding of WordPress architecture, plugin ecosystems, content modeling, and CMS workflows in a marketing-driven environment.
  6. Experience integrating frontend applications with RESTful APIs (JSON-based).
  7. Strong understanding of how backend systems impact frontend performance and behavior (no backend ownership required).
  8. Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
  9. Understanding of web accessibility, performance optimization, and responsive design.
  10. Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
  11. Experience partnering with digital marketing teams and graphic designers on user‑facing web initiatives (preferred).
  12. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
  13. Experience with design systems and component libraries (preferred).
  14. Familiarity with cloud platforms e.g., Azure, AWS, or GCP (preferred).
  15. Experience with marketing technology platforms such as HubSpot (CMS, forms, integrations), Google analytics, or marketing-driven web workflows (preferred).
  16. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (preferred).
  17. Knowledge of authentication and authorization patterns (preferred).
  18. Exposure to automated testing frameworks: unit, integration, or UI testing (preferred).
  19. This role is focused on frontend/UI engineering. Candidates whose experience is primarily backend or full-stack without strong UI development experience will not be a fit.

Physical Demands/Work Environment: Vision, hearing, speech, dexterity, visual concentration. A valid driver’s license is required. Must have the ability to stand, walk, sit and use hands and fingers. Must have the ability to work the hours and days required to complete the essential functions of the position, as scheduled. The environment is a professional office with standard office equipment.
