Electronic Arts creates next-level entertainment experiences that inspire players and fans around the world. Here, everyone is part of the story. Part of a community that connects across the globe. A place where creativity thrives, new perspectives are invited, and ideas matter. A team where everyone makes play happen.

Founded in 2010 by the original creators of the Call of Duty Franchise, Respawn was created with the philosophy that when talented people have creative freedom, they’ll make extraordinary games that achieve the unexpected. From our roots as an indie studio to joining the expansive roster of studios at Electronic Arts, this remains our guiding principle. We truly love what we do and want to share our passion with players worldwide.

Our shipped titles include critically acclaimed multi-platform games Apex Legends, Titanfall, Titanfall 2, Star Wars™ Jedi: Fallen Order, Star Wars™ Jedi: Survivor, and Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond.

Join us for the opportunity to create groundbreaking games with some of the best developer talent in the industry.

We’re looking for a passionate Senior Technical Game Designer who will embrace our philosophy and work with design leadership, artists, code, and other departments to help us create an incredible experience for our players.

What you’ll do...

  1. Deliver impressive player experiences of large-scale game moments involving design leadership, design team, production, artists, engineers, and animators.
  2. Assess the current quality of scripted moments and execute an efficient plan for bringing them to shippable quality through collaboration with all departments.
  3. Be an expert at all implementation aspects of the game and engine, able to tackle any issue large or small.
  4. Solve complicated technical problems and design smart solutions in an efficient manner that does not compromise on player experience.
  5. Ship bug-free, highly polished experiences that push the industry standard for AAA quality.
  6. Become an extremely helpful wealth of knowledge for other team members to query on the inner-workings of the game and engine.

Ideally, you will have...

  1. 7+ years’ experience in the games industry working as a designer, shipping at least two titles.
  2. Expert-level understanding of Unreal Engine 5 including its tools and systems such as Sequencer, World Partition, AI, and more.
  3. Experience with text-based scripting, visual scripting, and/or programming languages.
  4. Computer Science or related degree.
  5. A team-player mindset, understanding the importance of collaboration, and able to communicate effectively with all disciplines and departments.
  6. A positive, solution-oriented attitude and passion about the play experience, with a wealth of knowledge across a wide range of games.
  7. An understanding of the Jedi franchise and how to deliver an elevated player experience within its framework.
  8. C++ proficiency is a bonus.

If this opportunity sounds like a great fit for you, please submit your resume and portfolio and we will get back to you once we have reviewed it.
