2. About the Opportunity:

The Senior Software Engineer role is responsible for independently applying artificial intelligence tools across the software development lifecycle to design, develop, and test high-quality software solutions. This position involves leading architectural discussions, creating testing strategies that ensure solution reliability and security, and collaborating with various teams to align dependencies and achieve shared goals. The role is critical to driving automation, maintaining code quality, and enhancing security standards within the software products.

3. Responsibilities:

• Use AI tools and practices independently across the software development lifecycle.

• Take ownership of AI-generated requirements, design documents, code, and related assets.

• Apply engineering health measures to improve processes, particularly involving AI.

• Review product and test code for quality, test coverage, security, and adherence to standards.

• Provide timely and insightful code reviews, coaching team members to improve skills.

• Use debugging tools and telemetry to verify code assumptions and proactively prevent production issues.

• Conduct incident retrospectives to identify root causes and implement preventive measures.

• Lead by example in producing extensible, maintainable, secure, and performant code.

• Continuously improve code by applying metrics and best practices, including the use of generative AI.

• Communicate blockers and impacts on timelines, proposing solutions.

• Develop clear test strategies that prevent regression and incorporate security testing.

• Enhance test coverage by adding, fixing, or removing tests and improving test suite performance.

• Build testable code and consider testability in design decisions.

• Identify and manage dependencies across products, collaborating with other teams to ensure security, compliance, and reliability.

• Lead architectural discussions, test design hypotheses, and develop complex design specifications.

• Collaborate with architects and engineers to create and modify product architectures with minimal oversight.

• Maintain awareness of evolving technology landscapes relevant to the role.

4. Requirements:

• Experience using artificial intelligence tools in software development.

• Strong skills in code review, debugging, and ensuring code quality and security.

• Ability to lead architecture discussions and produce complex design specifications.

• Experience developing and implementing test strategies, including security testing.

• Familiarity with software development lifecycle and engineering health metrics.

• Capability to manage dependencies and collaborate across teams.

• Proficiency in producing extensible, maintainable, and performant code.

• Knowledge of security best practices and principles such as least-access.

• Ability to communicate technical blockers and propose mitigation strategies.
