The Backend Product Engineer is a software generalist that is as comfortable working with frontend engineers as they are with systems design. This Engineer will be expected to increase the general intelligence of product by writing prompts and building infrastructure. They will also support our user experience by helping to build data structures that can be used to create incredible experiences. We also plan to broaden how we collect data by building an efficient way of collecting and storing diagnostic data. So, some experience building and maintaining microservices is appreciated. This is a product engineer role, so we don't expect you to be a Kubernetes expert or for much of your past experience to be coding through configuration files.

Role Definition:

1. Serves as a generalist collaborating with frontend engineers
2. Builds data structures, prompts, and infrastructure
3. Creates data structures for user experiences
4. Develops efficient systems for collecting and storing data
5. Architects microservices

Requirements:

1. 5+ years as a backend/full-stack engineer
2. Experience working closely with users
3. Systems design experience
4. Familiarity with microservices
5. Experience using AI coding tools

Nice-to-Have:

1. Startup experience
2. Tenure at a competitive tech company
3. Experience building LLM applications like chatbots
