Job Description:

– Demand Generation & AI-Driven Growth

About Cobalt Iron

Cobalt Iron builds the technology that keeps the world’s largest enterprises one step ahead of data loss and ransomware—turning what used to be backup’s daily grind into something automated, secure, and effortless. Since 2013, our Compass © platform has quietly protected mission-critical data for customers across 44 countries, replacing fragile legacy systems with intelligent, self-running cloud protection. We’re a team of relentless problem solvers who’d rather reinvent the rules than accept “that’s just how backup works.”

The Role

We’re hiring an AI-native Senior Marketing Manager to own our demand engine — from first impression to qualified pipeline. This is not a role about publishing more content. It’s about building a repeatable, AI-powered system that compounds — one that generates pipeline, accelerates our customers and partners, and gets smarter every month. You’ll own the number, build the engine, and have the autonomy to make it count.

Primary Responsibilities

Pipeline & demand generation

Net-new qualified meetings and pipeline generation as your core metric.

Marketing-sourced and marketing-influenced revenue — you own the number.

Define how Cobalt Iron captures, nurtures, and converts demand end-to-end, building the foundation for a repeatable, scalable demand engine.

AI-driven marketing systems

Use AI (Claude preferred) to accelerate campaign creation, personalization, testing, and optimization.

Build a system that improves over time and surfaces the trends and insights that sharpen our strategy.

Think in systems, automation, and scale — repeatable workflows, not manual one-offs or low-value content.

Organic & owned channels

Stand up and scale our core organic and owned channels: SEO/GEO (generative search), lifecycle and email, content, and website conversion.

Run focused ABM programs for high-value enterprise accounts.

Keep paid spend lean and experimental — our growth model is organic- and owned-first.

Customer & partner enablement

Create enablement content and programs that help partners sell and help new customers get value faster — including accelerating customer onboarding.

Turn our internal subject-matter experts into scalable, on-brand content and demand. Building content that gets reshaped, reused, and driven through multiple channels.

Measurement & optimization

Build and maintain clear attribution from campaign → meeting → pipeline → revenue.

Own dashboards and reporting; make budget and strategy decisions based on real performance data.

Continuously improve cost per meeting and overall pipeline efficiency.

Cross-functional alignment

Work tightly with sales and subject-matter experts so messaging, targeting, and pipeline goals stay aligned.

Feed market insights back into positioning and go-to-market strategy.

What We’re Looking For

5+ years in B2B demand generation, growth, or acquisition, with a track record of owning and hitting pipeline targets.

You’ve built demand engines from scratch — not just optimized existing programs.

AI-first operator: you actively use AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) to create leverage and move faster, and you invest in AI to raise both speed and quality. You build systems, not one-off outputs.

Strong planning and execution — you turn ambiguous goals into a sequenced plan and ship it.

Hands-on with organic and owned channels: SEO/GEO, email and lifecycle, content, and website conversion; familiar with ABM and enterprise GTM motions.

Fluent in attribution, funnel metrics, and performance analysis; comfortable owning dashboards, tracking, and reporting.

Experience with HubSpot (or similar), CRM systems, and campaign tooling.

Excellent written and verbal communication.

B2B enterprise SaaS or technology experience is valued; we’re open to any industry background where the AI and systems skills are exceptional.

Based in the United States. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

How You’ll Be Measured

Primary: Net-new qualified meetings and marketing-sourced pipeline, measured by downstream conversion to qualified opportunity.

Secondary: Cost per meeting and pipeline efficiency, faster customer and partner ramp from enablement, and a documented AI-driven system that measurably improves over time.

30 / 60 / 90-day ramp: Inherit and run current manual programs, then operate independently against pipeline targets, then stand up a repeatable AI-powered demand engine contributing a growing share of pipeline.

Why This Role

You won’t be inheriting a mature playbook, and your work won’t disappear into committee. This is a small, tight-knit, high-energy team that shows up to get stuff done — what you build is visible, attributable, and will have a clear impact on the success of the company.

Secure data protection is a category that matters more every year, and Compass sits at the center of it. If you want to build an AI-powered demand engine from a strong foundation — and have immediate line-of-sight to the pipeline and revenue it produces — this is the role.
