The Senior Marketing Automation Administrator is charged with overseeing enterprise-wide marketing automation systems and managing the development and execution of customer journeys and campaigns for individual brands across a variety of audience segments. As a subject matter expert and marketing automation champion, the Sr. Marketing Automation Administrator will stay connected to the latest technology and performance trends that enable APEI to stay a leader and differentiator in higher education. This role will require both strategic and tactical execution as well as strong program management.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the Customer Journey and Marketing strategy teams to create targeted lead nurturing and loyalty campaigns that support business objectives.
- Ensure a successful configuration, implementation, and maintenance of all marketing programs and email builds within the marketing automation platform(s).
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, admissions, and student support teams to build and optimize lead workflow programs.
- Monitor campaign vital signs and optimization requirements including deliverability, inbox rankings, accessibility, mobile formatting, and template style consistency as well as regulatory requirements for utilized channels including email and SMS.
- Deliver new functional enhancements and next generation capabilities leveraged by the marketing team – particularly within SFMC and Marketo Automation systems.
- Setup campaigns that leverage dynamic content and variable data fields to support highly personalized messages to a wide array of current and prospective customers.
- Develop a test and scale methodology and strategy that elevates the company’s understanding of email behavior and drives toward improved results of key metrics.
- Work with analytics and strategy teams to develop email performance dashboards that measure against established benchmarks and vital signs.
- Interpret performance and create a feedback loop to the strategy and creative teams to funnel improvements into the development cycle upstream.
- Be well versed in and adhere to all regulatory, security and compliance requirements, including TCPA and GDPR.
- Provide internal expertise about Marketing Automation Systems for all system users.
- Work alongside IT to administer technical integrations within CRM and Marketing Automation platforms that enable lead flow and accurate data segmentation that allows for marketing and student support teams to work most optimally.
- Manage administration and expanded use of the marketing automation platform.
- Work collaboratively with internal strategy, creative, project management and IT teams within the parameters of the project management process and utilizing required business systems.
- Develop, refine and adhere to internal workflows and procedures that ensure quality, accuracy, compliance, and overall project efficiency and uphold all approval and sign off procedures.
- Assist with managing team capacity and prioritization using an agile methodology.
- Work with outside marketing agencies, CRM administrators, and internal marketing. stakeholders to ensure data integrity, campaigns are executed on time, and marketing metrics are reported accurately.

Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience as a Marketing Automation system administration – certification with Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) and/or Marketo preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in marketing or business.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
- Experience working with SFMC Journey Builder is a plus.
- Advanced experience with developing and maintaining a Marketing Automation system integration with a CRM; Salesforce preferred.
- Understanding of the lead funnel and strategies to optimize lead conversions.
- Basic experience with front-end development - HTML, CSS, jQuery, and JavaScript.
- Marketing experience as it relates to email nurturing, funnel optimization, and database management.
- Thorough understanding of marketing metrics and analytics; proactive in analyzing performance and making recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of marketing and technology practices.
- Ability to interpret non-expert feedback, pivot, when necessary, collaborate often, and justify decisions anchored in a strong understanding of project and client requirements verses personal style or preference.
- Highly organized with an interest and curiosity for crafting efficiencies that further streamline processes.
- Familiar with business process change management.
