Software Engineering Department

The Software Engineering team at Red 6 develops software for systems to see and interpret the world. These systems synthesize and visualize a synthetic reality into a hive mind of real-world knowledge. We are engineering high-performing and highly advanced augmented and virtual reality platforms and infrastructure, which support our military partners’ operations. This enables us to collaborate and train with the world’s most advanced military systems and develop our soldiers’ capabilities as the world’s most important line of defense.

Job Summary

As a Senior Front End Engineer at Red 6, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and enhancing web-based applications that integrate with cutting-edge augmented reality technology. Additionally, you will be expected to address software issues promptly, work independently, and manage tasks in an agile environment. Effective communication skills are essential, as you will participate in standup meetings, sprint planning/retrospectives, and sprint reviews. Experience with React Native is considered a bonus.

Experience, Skills, and Required Qualifications

1. 6+ years of professional experience as a Full-Stack Web Developer
2. Strong proficiency in Python, JavaScript/Typescript, and React
3. Ability to quickly identify and resolve defects in web applications
4. Proven ability to work independently and manage tasks in an Agile environment
5. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
6. Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git and GitLab
7. Strong understanding of web development principles and best practices
8. Bachelor's degree in STEM field

Preferred/Additional Skills

1. Knowledge of WebSocket implementation and functionality
2. Knowledge of FastAPI
3. C++ experience
4. Experience building applications for a military environment
5. Experience in augmented reality or virtual reality
