We are seeking a highly competent lead and senior-level DevOps Engineer who will be responsible for site Reliability engineering for all current and new automation services, writing, updating, and maintaining code, being the highest point of escalation, leading design sessions, and managing personal work as well as the work of DevOps Engineers.
Position Overview:
This role is critical for overseeing the infrastructure and platform reliability of the organization's environment, including automation services, cloud environments, and key software configurations. It requires extensive leadership skills, hands-on technical expertise, and experience in DevOps and platform engineering, with a strong focus on security, scalability, and uptime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Reliability Engineering:
- Ensuring the stability, scalability, and security of platforms.
- Taking responsibility for the uptime and performance of the systems.
- Automation and IaC Management:
- Writing, updating, and maintaining automation scripts and infrastructure code.
- Overseeing and maintaining the infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Platform Engineering:
- Configuring and managing high availability (HA) setups, especially for services like JFrog.
- Handling service updates, bug fixes, and feature deliveries for platform services.
- General platform maintenance such as troubleshooting and resolving authentication issues, and managing platform services.
- Leadership and Collaboration:
- Lead design sessions and architecture discussions for platform upgrades and improvements.
- Serve as the highest point of escalation for technical issues.
- Manage your personal workload while guiding and overseeing the work of other DevOps Engineers.
- Support Growth and Transformation:
- Focus on improving platform reliability and uptime.
- Enable efficiencies by automating manual tasks.
- Support agency growth and assist in the company’s technological transformation initiatives.
Mandatory Skills/Experience:
Candidates must demonstrate expertise in:
- 12+ years of experience in DevOps or related platform engineering roles.
- Terraform expertise (for writing IaC), including module development and state management.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including virtual networks, compute, and storage services.
- Kubernetes containerization and orchestration experience.
- JFrog Artifactory, including high availability (HA) configurations and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency with the ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).
- Experience with Ansible for automation purposes.
Highly Desirable Skills/Experience:
- OpenShift expertise, especially related to Elasticsearch.
- Ansible Automation Platform for managing environments.
- Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Storage, and Azure Networking.
- Project management capabilities.
- Data processing and pipelining knowledge, likely including handling streaming data and real-time data processing.
- Familiarity with Kafka deployment and support.
- NSX-T expertise and experience with VMware vSphere.
Additional Considerations:
- The role requires the ability to manage complex systems, ensuring their reliability, security, and scalability.
- The ideal candidate will need to exhibit strong leadership and mentoring skills for a team of DevOps engineers.
- A deep understanding of continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes, monitoring systems, and fault tolerance will be highly beneficial.
- Candidates should also be well-versed in troubleshooting and resolving issues across multi-cloud environments and various layers of system architecture.
- Familiarity with tools such as smash for automation tasks is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
