About the Role

As Senior Communications Specialist, Sports Betting, you’ll report directly to the Director of PR and play an integral role in the continued success of telling BetMGM’s sports betting story. You’ll work across a variety of internal departments including trading, retail sportsbook and partnership teams, as well as with third-party partners and our parent companies, MGM Resorts International and Entain.

Responsibilities

• Own the sports betting communications function on BetMGM’s PR team
• Create communication strategies for new products and partnerships, launches, events, and promotions
• Advise internal teams in creation of omnichannel projects
• Write, maintain, and update press materials and key messaging based on latest company results
• Identify events and editorial opportunities to contribute to a modern PR strategy
• Establish relationships and liaise with industry and mainstream journalists
• Distribute press materials to media and produce executive level recaps and reports
• Respond to communication-related issues in a timely manner
• Collaborate cross functionally with internal teams and external partners to execute PR strategies
• Set an industry-standard for timely support, regular communications, and prompt assistance
• Support BetMGM’s company values
• All other duties as assigned

Essential Functions

• Must be able to stand or sit and operate computers and other technological devices for extended periods of time

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are required
• Knowledge of sports (across numerous leagues) is required
• Demonstrated success in story ideation, press release writing, pitching and placement
• Highly organized with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
• Analytical mind-set and high attention to detail
• Proven success in collaborating with a multi-functional team in achieving established objectives
• Experience working on multiple projects with many moving parts
• Proactive self-starter, self-motivated, enthusiastic, resourceful
• Expert in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint
• Must be flexible and able to adapt to changes quickly and efficiently
• Candidate must comply with and support the company’s responsible gambling policies, procedures and initiatives
• Bachelor's Degree preferably in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing or business
• Existing relationship with industry media preferred

Applicable salary ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. The position is also eligible for an annual bonus.
