About the Role

 

We are looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer to orchestrate, secure, monitor, and scale our growing cloud-based footprint of platform, software, and services. The Senior Cloud Engineer will solve all things with an “infrastructure as code” mindset and action plan. The SCE will have the best of breed tools and support to accomplish the goals including terraform, ansible, github, aws, gcp, azure, kubernetes, jenkins, etc. 

 

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Support scale, orchestration, security, and governance of cloud infrastructure methodologies and techniques (IaaS/PaaS) including application migrations to cloud platforms in an environment transitioning from startup to enterprise (high growth).
  • Support cloud solution resources, both IaaS and PaaS, that enable the business to securely run sensitive workloads within a cloud environment including architecting and designing large scale enterprise infrastructure and integration patterns for cloud environments.
  • Help drive internal CI initiatives with our software developers and technologists; translating requirements into workflow pipelines (as code). Our team maintains a variety of platform technologies including application performance monitoring, automated cloud provisioning templates, and automated bootstrap and configuration management code.
  • Provide input on industry standards and collaborate with fellow team leaders on the prioritization and execution of ongoing platform improvement initiatives.
  • Provide resolution of product or platform issues in a multi vendor client environment.

Preferred Requirements

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or other related scientific or technical discipline
  • 5+ years experience working in Systems, Cloud Development
  • 5+ years experience with deploying applications to the AWS cloud
  • 2 + years experience with Terraform
  • 2 + years experience with Ansible
  • 2 + years experience with various DevOps platforms:  CircleCI, Jenkins, Team City, Etc.
  • An understanding of and adherence to professional engineering practices: use case, acceptance criteria, and tests that illustrate fulfillment of use case
  • Know scale cube & Kubernetes and what they can and cannot do to solve all things
  • Experience with AWS Secrets Manager, Hashicorp Vault
  • Experience with supporting full stack web-based enterprise systems
  • Experience with SQL and database technologies
  • Experience with modern containerization and orchestration platforms: Kubernetes, Docker, etc.
