Mabbett & Associates, Inc. (Mabbett®), an award-winning and industry-leading environmental, health and safety, and architectural-engineering consulting firm, is seeking a full-time Senior Civil Engineer to support the firm’s growing Engineering & Infrastructure Group. The ideal candidate for this position will be capable of serving as a design engineer for challenging and complex civil engineering projects to support the growth and development of our clients. Civil engineering project assignments will be focused on site development, grading, stormwater management, and/or water and sewer utilities. This role will work with a wide variety of clients, from local manufacturers to complex Federal design projects supporting the mission of such agencies as the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and others.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering with the ability to achieve licensure or active Professional Engineer (PE) license in any jurisdiction.
• 10 years of experience in civil site development, grading, stormwater, sewer collection and pumping, and water distribution. Experience on Federal engineering design projects.
• Excellent technical writing skills with demonstrated technical experience, including preparing site investigation reports, feasibility studies, construction documents, and specifications.
• Proficiency in AutoDesk; AutoCAD and C3D, HydroCAD, and Microsoft Office® products: Word, Access, Project, and Excel.
• EIT or EI credential; Red Cross First Aid, CPR, and AED Certified or ability to achieve certification are required.
• Excellent organizational and personal communication skills; ability to successfully interact with clients, staff, and peers clearly and directly.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check, as well as pre-employment physical and drug screen, to include cannabis.
• Due to the nature of our work, the clients that we serve, and the setting for certain on-site assignments, COVID-19 vaccination may be required prior to beginning employment except in situations where a medical or religious accommodation is requested and granted by the firm. 
• Must be able to travel on a short-term basis.

Responsibilities

This senior-level position will require technical leadership, staff management, and client collaboration. Demonstrated experience in civil engineering design is required. Management of subcontractors, to include development of subcontractor agreements, monthly invoice and status report preparation, and client follow-up required. The candidate selected for this position will provide technical expertise, lead project implementation, and assist the firm’s Engineering & Infrastructure Group Lead to develop strategies for growth of the engineering practice over time.

Base Location

This position will be based in Stoneham, Massachusetts. However, work may also include project site visits during design and construction and attendance at on-site client meetings throughout the United States.
