Senior Backend Engineer

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in designing scalable systems and powering features that connect users through messaging, mapping, and personalized recommendations.

What You’ll Do:

1. Lead core service components like recommendation engines, ensuring reliability and scalability with a Node.js codebase
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including UX, data science, and product to deliver user-centric solutions
3. Own end-to-end development processes, from architecture to deployment, following CI/CD best practices
4. Optimize performance across databases like Postgres, MongoDB, and ElasticSearch

What You’ll Bring:

1. 6+ years of software development experience, including leadership in scalable system design
2. BS/MS in related technical field (Professional Experience can serve as substitute for non-engineering backgrounds)
3. Proficiency in Node.js, JavaScript, Golang, or TypeScript
4. Experience with modern search technologies (e.g., OpenSearch, Elasticsearch, Vector DBs)
5. Strong communication and collaboration skills across teams
