About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Backend Developer to join our Advertising Dashboard Team, part of the Advertising Solutions department. This team is responsible for developing and maintaining in-house technology that enables mobile publishers to acquire the right users by managing and analyzing ads for over 200 million daily users. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and optimizing backend systems that support our data-driven advertising platform. Your work will directly impact how advertisers and account managers create, launch, analyze, and optimize campaigns through modern interfaces and dashboards built with advanced databases such as Druid. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced developer to work in a dynamic, international environment, contributing to scalable, high-performance microservices architecture in a fast-growing company.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess over 5 years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on building web applications in Go for at least 3 years. You should have a proven track record of working on large-scale applications handling high traffic volumes (>100 million requests per day). Expertise in profiling Go applications to identify and resolve bottlenecks is essential, along with experience optimizing query performance in databases. Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform, containerization with Docker, and serverless infrastructure is a plus. Additionally, experience working with columnar databases such as Druid and knowledge of cloud-based data streaming platforms like Kafka and Kinesis will be advantageous. Candidates must be open to relocating to Hamburg, Germany, and demonstrate excellent communication skills in English. A proactive attitude, collaborative mindset, and a passion for innovative technology are highly valued.

Responsibilities

1. Contribute to the development and maintenance of our backend services written in Go, ensuring robust microservice architecture used to communicate with our frontend applications built with TypeScript React.
2. Utilize event-driven systems such as Kafka and SQS/SNS to facilitate reliable asynchronous communication between microservices.
3. Collaborate with a team of developers, sharing knowledge, conducting peer code reviews, and maintaining high coding standards.
4. Work extensively with modern columnar databases like Druid, as well as MySQL, to optimize data queries and ensure minimal response times.
5. Support external partners by providing raw or aggregated data tailored to their business needs, promoting data transparency through well-documented open APIs.
6. Manage the ingestion of billions of daily API events, aggregating data streams within Kafka and Kinesis, with the goal of enabling rapid querying from our data lake.
7. Participate in an international, English-speaking team dedicated to scaling our adtech platform to support hundreds of millions of active users monthly.
