Alpine Laser is a rapidly growing medtech startup specializing in design and manufacturing of advanced laser processing workstations for medical device manufacturing.

We are looking for a Senior level Applications Engineer to join our high performing core team.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience programming and operating multi‐axis cnc machines, with laser processing experience being a plus.

During the pre‐sales process you will be required to take customer applications from print to CNC programming, manufacturing samples, inspecting and measuring parts, writing application summary reports, and making recommendations to customers on machine tooling and workstation configuration.

During the post‐sales process you will be required to carry out machine installations and training on site at customer locations throughout the US (primarily), Costa Rica and Europe. After machine installation, you will be the point person to answer customer questions regarding the operation and potential troubleshooting of their machine.

Job Duties:

• Manage and Operate Equipment in the Laser Applications Lab
• - Cutting systems with Ultrafast and Fiber Lasers, Laser Welding Workstations, new product development
• - Automated Keyence Digital Microscope with 3D measurement software
• - Post processing & ultrasonic cleaning equipment
• Use customer PDF/DXF/3D files to generate gcode based motion programs using CAGILA
• May design and test tooling and fixturing as needed
• Generate applications reports – document process parameters, inspect and measure parts, make recommendations for tooling and machine configuration
• Carry out machine installations and training on site at customer locations throughout the US, Costa Rica, and Europe
• Technical customer support – answer phone/email equipment support questions, perform onsite support as needed
• Travel to customer locations 1‐2 times per month, for 2‐3 day periods at a time

Desired Qualification:

• Education – B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (or similar) required
• The ideal candidate will have 3‐5+ years of hands‐on experience programming and operating multi‐axis CNC machines
• Experience in the medical component/device manufacturing field is a plus
• Experience with laser processing; cutting, welding, ablation, marking is a plus
• Possess a general understanding of electrical control systems, AC and DC power
• Will be required to stand, sit, crouch, crawl, kneel, etc. Will be required to lift up to 50lbs.
• Valid US Passport, willingness and desire to travel
