Role Summary

The Senior AI Solution Engineer is Otairo’s senior hands-on technical delivery role.

This person builds the systems. They implement AI-powered workflows, integrations, APIs, applications, RAG systems, agentic workflows, cloud infrastructure, and production-ready software. The right person can work independently, make sound technical decisions, collaborate with customers and partners, and deliver high-quality software with minimal handholding.

This role is ideal for a senior engineer or architect who still loves building and wants to use AI tools aggressively to move faster.

Responsibilities

● Build AI-powered enterprise software solutions.

● Implement integrations with AI platforms, customer systems, APIs, data sources, authentication providers, and cloud services.

● Develop application functionality across frontend, backend, data, and cloud layers.

● Build and integrate RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, document processing, search, summarization, classification, and automation features.

● Design and implement APIs, services, background jobs, data flows, and deployment pipelines.

● Support architecture decisions and contribute to technical design.

● Write clean, maintainable, production-quality code.

● Use AI tools heavily to accelerate development, testing, documentation, and problem solving.

● Collaborate with Principal AI Solution Leads, customer engineering teams, and partner engineering teams.

● Test, debug, deploy, monitor, and harden systems for production use.

● Document implementation decisions, setup instructions, and operational considerations.

● Identify technical risks and communicate them clearly.

● Work independently and own delivery of assigned solution areas.

Required Qualifications

● 10+ years of professional software development experience.

● Strong hands-on full-stack engineering capability.

● Experience building production web applications, APIs, services, integrations, and cloud-hosted systems.

● Strong experience with at least one major cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

● Experience with modern JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, C#, Java, or similar enterprise development stacks.

● Experience integrating third-party APIs and enterprise systems.

● Experience with authentication, authorization, data security, and production deployment concerns.

● Experience using AI tools such as Cursor, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar tools as part of daily development work.

● Understanding of AI implementation patterns such as RAG, agents, prompt engineering, model/API integration, and evaluation.

● Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

● Strong written and verbal communication skills.

● Pragmatic engineering judgment and a bias toward delivering working software.

Preferred Qualifications

● Experience with Vectara, OpenAI, Anthropic, AWS Bedrock, Azure AI, Google Vertex AI, LangChain/LangGraph, LlamaIndex, Pinecone, Weaviate, or similar platforms.

● Experience building RAG systems, AI agents, document intelligence systems, conversational agents, enterprise search, or workflow automation.

● Experience with React, Next.js, Node.js, FastAPI, .NET, Spring, PostgreSQL, vector databases, serverless platforms, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, or infrastructure-as-code.

● Experience working in consulting, professional services, or customer-facing engineering environments.

● Experience in enterprise domains such as financial services, legal/contracts, ITSM, healthcare, education, supply chain, or compliance.

● Experience working in small senior teams where everyone is expected to own outcomes.

Engagement Structure

Otairo is currently engaging Senior AI Solution Engineers as 1099 contractors. The role may be full-time, fractional, or project-based depending on the opportunity.

Compensation will be competitive for senior AI-enabled software engineering talent and will reflect the person’s ability to deliver production-quality systems independently while using AI tools to increase speed and quality.

Pay: $60.00 - $90.00 per hour
