Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Accounting Associate located in Hollywood, FL at NIBA Designs, Inc. The Senior Accounting Associate is responsible for managing account reconciliations, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures. Other responsibilities include analyzing financial reports, preparing financial statements, and assisting with audits.
Detailed Responsibilities
- Develops and Maintains Company Business Plan & Budget in conjunction with the President and CEO
- Responsible for Purchasing, A/R, A/P and all financial transactions
- Maintains subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting all financial transactions including job costs
- Preparation of Financial Reports
- Coordinate payments/wires with overseas factories and freight forwarders for goods shipping to the NIBA warehouse and goods shipping directly to clients
- Prepares payroll, sales commissions and schedules/tracks Paid Time Off (PTO)
- Manages Employee Benefits Programs to include but is not limited to Health and Life Insurance
- Continually evaluates appropriate vendors for competitive pricing
- Timely accounting of all Employee Expense Reports
- Balances subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries
- Maintains general ledger and historical records
- Electronically filing invoices by vendor in an orderly fashion for easy retrieval and or review
- Inventory Control and Accounting. Maintains NIBA’s Listing of In-Stock Products updating all changes in stock levels in or out.
- Maintain the product item list in QB and associated programs
- Maintain current cost and pricing data from factories/vendors in the Pricing Matrix Excel spreadsheet for NIBA client pricing and the Data Matrix for base factory pricing
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of related experience in accounting or finance
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of accounting principles
- Experience with financial accounting systems and applications, such as QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with managing account reconciliations and financial reporting
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is a plus
- Experience with audits and compliance is a plus
