We are looking for an ambitious and hands-on engineer to take responsibility in investigating issues related to growth of diamonds for technical applications. You will be working closely with an experienced team of mechanical, automation, metrology, and materials engineers, and will be encouraged to gain experience in different areas. The position will involve hands-on work with material and hardware components, with the goal of developing new processes to be transferred to manufacturing.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning, preparing, running, and analyzing high value experiments
  • Deepen the mechanistic understanding of complex plasma processes
  • Examine materials and hardware components
  • Deep investigations into various failure modes.
  • Generate reports/presentations on experimentation progress
  • Generate technical documentation to detail engineering changes.
  • Train technicians on similar tasks that become production routines.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or similar field.
  • 1-2 years of hands-on experience in industry (internships OK) or academia.
  • Ability to extract, analyze and interpret data using tools such as SQL and statistical software such as JMP.
  • Self-motivated, able to identify needs and implement solutions as an independent contributor.
  • Effective communication and must be comfortable working closely with team members.
  • Flexible, independent, and adept at working in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of crystallography and electronic properties of carbon materials is a plus
  • Experience with device characterization a plus
  • Experience with high vacuum growth a plus
  • Experience in statistical data analytics (DOE, SPC)

Position is eligible for company shares. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s job duties, experience, and location. We will also consider higher-level candidates and salary will be adjusted accordingly.
