Quantitative Developer — Research Engineering (On-site, NYC)

About the role

Join a top-tier systematic trading organization scaling a research–engineering bridge to move ideas from prototype to production at speed. You’ll sit on the desk with researchers and traders, build the tooling that powers signals and portfolios, and see immediate commercial impact. On-site 5 days/week in New York. What You’ll Do

1. Build research platforms: backtesting & simulation frameworks, reusable libraries, and reproducible workflows.
2. Ship production pipelines: signal generation, data ingestion/validation, model training/serving, and monitoring.
3. Enable portfolio construction & execution: tools that connect research to live risk, cost, and liquidity constraints.
4. Own end-to-end projects: from problem framing with QRs/PMs → implementation → production → iteration.
5. Operate on fast loops: adapt systems to fluid markets; prioritize commercial value and reliability.

What You’ll Bring

1. 1+ years in quantitative development or back-end/software engineering with evidence of end-to-end ownership.
2. Proficiency in Python (and/or similar languages) and comfort with performant, production-grade code.
3. Strength in systems thinking: data models, testing, infra, and reliability at scale.
4. Communication & commerciality: translate technical trade-offs into business outcomes.
5. Nice signals (any one helps): rigorous CS/Math background, high GPA, notable internships/return offers, Olympiad/research/accelerated graduation.
