Job title: Public Relations & Content Specialist

Compensation: $60,000-$80,000 per year

The job:

As a Public Relations and Content Specialist at Buildertrend, you will be the voice behind our brand. You will lead the charge in shaping our public image and crafting compelling content that resonates across all platforms. From developing innovative PR strategies to managing media relations, you'll be at the forefront of storytelling and brand advocacy. What you will do:

1. Execute external-facing PR strategies that align with Buildertrend’s business goals and brand identity.
2. Champion the Buildertrend voice through high-quality copywriting across websites, blogs, press content, and more.
3. Create and distribute press releases, media kits, and other PR materials while maintaining and growing media lists.
4. Build strong relationships with media outlets and content partners to amplify brand visibility.
5. Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to uncover compelling messaging and executive visibility opportunities.
6. Support award submissions and podcast production to highlight Buildertrend’s innovation and thought leadership.
7. Monitor industry trends and media coverage to identify proactive PR opportunities and ensure brand-aligned communication.

Who you are and what you need:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).
2. 3–5 years of experience in PR and/or communications, with a proven track record of success.
3. Exceptional writing and editing skills with a sharp eye for clarity, tone, and storytelling.
4. Deep understanding of PR best practices, earned media strategy, and audience targeting.
5. Confident in pitching stories and cultivating relationships with media and content partners.
6. Proficient with PR and content tools to track performance and optimize outreach.
7. Highly organized, collaborative, and passionate about creating impactful, brand-aligned content.
