Position Summary

Skillbridge is seeking experienced Proposal Writers to support proposal development on an as-needed basis. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in capacity building and experience crafting compelling, compliant proposals for grants, RFPs, or donor-funded projects. Workload and timing will fluctuate depending on organizational needs and funding opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop clear, persuasive, and well-structured proposals aligned with funder requirements and Skillbridge’s mission.
2. Translate technical and capacity-building concepts into compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
3. Collaborate with internal teams to gather programmatic, operational, and budget inputs.
4. Ensure proposals are compliant with donor guidelines, formatting, and submission requirements.
5. Revise and edit proposal drafts based on feedback and evolving requirements.
6. Support the development and refinement of proposal templates and boilerplate content.

Qualifications

1. Demonstrated experience in proposal writing , preferably within capacity-building, nonprofit, or social impact sectors.
2. Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with close attention to detail.
3. Ability to work independently and adapt to changing timelines and priorities.
4. Familiarity with donor requirements, procurement processes, and competitive RFP environments is a plus.
5. Comfortable working remotely with distributed teams.
6. Candidates may be based domestically or internationally.
7. Candidates located in Northeast Pennsylvania are a plus, but not required.
