Duties

1. Review and proofread various types of content including articles, reports, proposals, marketing materials, and technical documents to identify errors in grammar, punctuation, spelling, and formatting.
2. Edit content for clarity, coherence, tone, style consistency, and adherence to established guidelines such as AP Style or the Chicago Manual of Style.
3. Conduct fact checking and research to verify information accuracy within documents.
4. Collaborate with writers, editors, and project teams to provide constructive feedback and ensure content meets quality standards.
5. Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail under tight deadlines.
6. Utilize word processing software to make precise edits and track changes effectively.
7. Ensure all materials comply with organizational branding, style guides, and legal requirements.

Requirements

1. Proven experience in proofreading, editing, or copy editing across diverse content types.
2. Strong writing skills with an excellent grasp of grammar, punctuation, syntax, and style conventions.
3. Familiarity with AP Style, the Chicago Manual of Style, and technical writing standards.
4. Ability to conduct thorough research and fact checking efficiently.
5. Excellent communication skills to clearly convey edits and suggestions.
6. Proficiency in word processing tools such as Microsoft Word or Google Docs.
7. Knowledge of creative writing techniques is a plus for engaging content creation.
8. Experience with journalism or proposal writing is desirable but not mandatory.
