Job Description:

Automotive Events, Inc. is seeking Auto Event Project Manager to work at events across the country. This is a full time, benefits eligible, 18-month engagement with the possibility of extending the time frame. The Project Manager will work with clients and internal account teams in the planning, development and execution of unique training and public relations events. Heavy physical activity - must be able to coordinate a large team of diverse roles and personalities at events in unique locations / venues.

Essential Job Functions

  • Lead event planning and creative brainstorming meetings
  • Perform research via phone and Internet for event related items
  • Analyze cost information and quotes to make purchasing decisions
  • Prepare staff, client and contract event team for successful events
  • Manage all aspects of the planning and execution of events
  • Provide regular project updates
  • Assist the President in the development of the projects from the logistical side
  • Understand OEM marketing goals and strategy

Required Qualifications

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in live event management, ideally automotive training events or similar with familiarity with hotels, legal requirements and large-scale travel bookings
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or some education with relevant work experience
  • Self-starter with exceptional time management, organization and prioritization skills
  • Ability to effectively build and foster team environments and supervise a large staff
  • Detail oriented and have a sense of urgency
  • Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly, and work well under pressure
  • Willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done and make the client happy
  • Computer Proficiency: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, prefer knowledge and experience with Project Management software.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to manage the event on site, includes being outside in cold and hot conditions and lots of physical activity – walking, lifting of up to 25 lbs, etc.
  • Extensive Travel 50% - 70%, event days require odd hours - early start and/or late finish
  • Car knowledge is a big plus
