Exciting Challenges

Directs and coordinates activities of the production shift ‐ plan, organize and control production to ensure that goods are produced efficiently, on time, within budget and to standard.

Specific Responsibilities:
Ensure shift meets profitable production goals and quality goals, while remaining within budget limitations.
Act as interface between plant management and production staff.
Lead continuous improvement programs and manufacturing process improvements by applying appropriate processes and problem-solving tools such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, etc.
Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization – consults with Engineering and Maintenance personnel relative to modification of machines.
Organize and cross‐train worker teams for maximum production flexibility.
Provide input in establishing production and quality control standards.
Assist the coordination and execution of production trials, process improvement projects through team project management.
Use KPIs to assess, analyze and track manufacturing process as it relates to goals and objectives.
Ensure implementation and evolution of safety guidelines and procedures – conduct safety meetings, oversees safety‐related training, and enforces safety guidelines, conducts accident investigations, ensures compliance with safety regulations and programs.
Provide input to Production Manager on developing budget and plant costs controls.
Monitor every stage of production, analyzing current methods and developing new ways to save steps, time, and materials in order to reduce costs.
Coordinate the hiring and training of all shift production personnel.
Responsible for shift production workforce performance ‐ fully engages workforce and promotes personal accountability by identifying goals, empowering employees, foster continuous learning by providing ongoing feedback on employee performance with formal evaluations and regular one‐on‐one coaching.
Resolves employee grievances, keeping Production Manager informed

Skills you`ll need

Able to function in a team driven organization
Bachelor’s Degree in chemical or other related degree preferred or 2+ years progressive experience in a key leadership / management role at a manufacturing facility with technical aptitude and analytical skills.
Strong solid computer skills including the ability to prepare spreadsheets and use Microsoft Office Products: (Outlook / Word / Excel / PowerPoint.
Written and Verbal Communication Skills
Strong organizational and planning abilities.
Critical thinking and problem‐solving skills.
Knowledge of health and safety standards and compliance.
Experience in budgeting, capital equipment analysis, cost accounting and project cost analysis.
Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, etc.
