This Administrative Specialist provides administrative support for the management staff of WorkSource West (WSW) and Counselors in the Morganton Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Unit Office and is involved in all aspects of the rehabilitation process. This position is located at WorkSource West which houses the Training and Employment Program and the VR Unit Office and is supervised by the WorkSource West Director. This PAIV serves as receptionist and first point of contact, either by phone or in person, for all customers at Worksource West. Work duties include accepting and processing new referrals, arranging appointments as requested by counseling staff, providing information to customers and performing necessary clerical duties to assure successful operation of the Work Adjustment Program and the VR Unit Office.
Job responsibilities include the following:
Daily contact with the public
Receives and routes all incoming phone calls
Assists the Training and Counseling staff with submitting authorizations for the purchase of goods and services on behalf of the client and/or the Programs
Arranges transportation services for individuals entering and exiting the work program and maintains transportation records/logs so that communication with staff is current and effective for planning and serving customers
Assists with maintenance of office machinery and office supplies
Communicates with community partners about facility training opportunities and craft house
Produces and distributes newsletter and fliers concerning upcoming events and products
Serves as a resource for all customers to assist them in finding available resources in the community
