Principal Software Engineer – Azure / .NET / Cloud Architecture

The Job:

We’re looking for a Principal Software Engineer to lead the design and development of high-performing, scalable web applications built on the Azure ecosystem. This is a short-term contract role with potential to convert into a long-term opportunity. You’ll architect end-to-end solutions, guide cloud-native software engineering practices, and drive DevOps maturity while bringing innovation and technical quality to delivery. You’ll also play a key role in leveraging Agentic AI tools to accelerate development workflows.

While the engagement is contract-based, the work is impactful and there’s opportunity for longer-term collaboration.

About You:

You are a senior engineer with deep technical roots in .NET Core and cloud architecture. You’ve built and deployed applications at scale in Azure, and you’re confident navigating serverless, containerised, and event-driven systems. You enjoy leading from the front—whether it’s mentoring devs, designing resilient APIs, or driving DevOps automation—and you’re constantly exploring new ways to enhance delivery using emerging tools and platforms.

1. 8+ years of software engineering experience with .NET Core
2. 4+ years of hands-on Azure experience (App Services, AKS, Azure DevOps, Cosmos DB, API Management)
3. 2–3+ years’ experience architecting modern cloud-based applications
4. Proven ability to lead development teams and deliver production-grade cloud solutions

The Salary, Location & Process:

Rate: Up to $90/hour

Contract: Start 18 June – End 29 August 2025 (possible contract-to-be-extended)
